Additional Information
The first step is to contact me so we can arrange a phone call. This gives you the chance to talk about why you're reaching for help and any questions you may have.Next, we will arrange an initial appointment where we can meet up and discuss your situation further. There is no commitment at this stage - what's most important is understanding how we can work together and what I can provide for you.
If we decide to go ahead, we can arrange some sessions or start and arrange an ending date in the future. These are regular appointments, usually on the same day/time and are available most weekdays and some evenings. They last 50 minutes. I do also, where it is appropriate, offer some sessions by Skype. We can review your counselling or psychotherapy at any point in time.
Product and Services
Depression can feel debilitating as overwhelming feelings can take over leaving you feeling powerless and despairing. This may lead you to feel you then have no control over what is happening to you and your life.
Sometimes depression can be described as being like a deep unhappiness that nags away deep within, an unhappiness that you can’t explain nor understand – you just feel the way you do. It is not unusual for someone to say they have felt this way for years or perhaps since a child. Some may say it’s been months - since a significant bereavement, work problems, a divorce, crisis or trauma.
Often there is concern for them that other people are worse off than they are and they can feel that they are to blame for their problems. Sometimes people will say – “If only I could just pull myself together and get on with it then life would be alright”.
You do not have to know why you are feeling the way you do to seek help from a counsellor/psychotherapist. Someone who is trained will listen to you and help you to put into words what is so painful and difficult to think about.
They stay with you as you work through your feelings and bit by bit things can improve. With new found insight change can happen - leading to you feeling more empowered and feel more in control of your life. How long you have been depressed and your personal situation will affect the length of time you work with a counsellor/psychotherapist.
